Recipe Ingredients for Cheeseburger Pizza

Crust:
2 cups unbleached all purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 tbsp milled flax seed
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp sugar
2 1/4 tbsp yeast
1 1/3 cup warm water (about 110)

Topping:
1/4 lb ground beef, browned and drained
1/2 cup onion, diced
1/2 cup tomato, diced and seeds removed
1 cup cheddar cheese
1 cup iceberg lettuce, shredded

Recipe Directions for Cheeseburger Pizza

  1. Mix together dry ingredients, add water till a dough is formed. Knead 3-4 minutes. Cover, and let rise till doubled in size.

  2. Generously coat a cookie sheet with cooking spray. Turn dough out onto sheet and stretch till it covers the sheet. If the dough springs back too much, let it rest for about 10 minutes, and continue.

  3. Bake dough in 350 oven, about 15 minutes.

  4. Spread ground beef, onion, and tomato over crust. Top with cheese.

  5. Bake for another 15 minutes, or till cheese is melted and begins to brown on the sides.

  6. Cut with pizza cutter into 12 even pieces. Top with lettuce for garnish.
