Light sauce over cheese tortellini with ham and peas

Recipe Ingredients for Cheese Tortellini with Ham and Peas

2 tbsp butter
2 tsp flour
3/4 cup 1% milk
5 oz frozen peas
2 cups cubed, cooked ham
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp parsley flakes
1/4 tsp salt
12 oz cheese tortellini

Recipe Directions for Cheese Tortellini with Ham and Peas

Heat water to boiling in a large pot over medium heat. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour; cook, stirring, 1 minute. Add milk: cook, stirring, until mixture is slightly reduced and thickened, about 10 minutes. Add peas; cook an additional 2 minutes. Stir in ham, Parmesan, parsley and salt. Turn heat off under pan. Meanwhile, cook tortellini according to package directions in boiling water. Drain; the pour sauce over tortellini, stirring to coat evenly.
