Recipe Ingredients for Cheese Pizza with Fresh Sauce

16 oz (1/8 package) Trader Joes Whole Wheat Pizza Dough
2 tbsp chopped Onions
1 serving Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 cup Crushed Tomatoes
1 teaspoon Thyme
1 tsp Oregano, Ground
1 dash Pepper, Black
1 serving Coarse Kosher Salt
3 oz Mozzarella Cheese
1/4 cup Low Fat Ricotta

Recipe Directions for Cheese Pizza with Fresh Sauce

Preheat oven to 425. Fine dice onion and saute in olive oil. Add crushed tomatoes. Season with thyme, salt, pepper and oregano. Simmer for 2 minutes and remove from heat. Roll out or toss pizza dough and place on pizza screen. Add desired amount of sauce and spread with the back of a spoon. Add small dallops of ricotta and sprinkle with mozzarella. Spray crust with a light mist of fat free cooking spray, if desired. Bake for 20 minutes, then lower temperature to 350 and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Allow pizza to rest before slicing.
