A healthy, low-fat lasagna recipe made with whole wheat pasta and light ricotta cheese. Lots of protein, calcium, and fiber. (Optional: add chopped frozen/fresh spinach to the cheese mixture)

Recipe Ingredients for Cheese Lasagna

240 g (4 9x9 sheets) whole wheat lasagna
700 g (1.5 tubs) light ricotta cheese
1 cup cheddar shredded cheese
300 g tomato sauce

Recipe Directions for Cheese Lasagna

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. Mix ricotta and shredded cheeses

  3. Lay one lasagna sheet on bottom of sauce-covered 9x9" glass baking dish

  4. Spread 1/3 of the cheese mixture over the lasagna sheet

  5. Cover with about 1/4 of the sauce

  6. Repeat layers

  7. Top with extra shredded cheese if desired

  8. Bake for around 40 minutes covered with aluminum foil
