Cheese grits made with stone ground grits, American cheese, and hot sauce. Very creamy.

Recipe Ingredients for Cheese Grits

6 T yellow cornmeal (stone ground grits)
2 c water
2 slices American cheese
1/4 t salt
1 t hot sauce

Recipe Directions for Cheese Grits

  1. Boil water with salt added

  2. Slowly add grits and reduce heat to low.

  3. Cover and simmer 20 min, stirring occasionally.

  4. Add cheese, hot sauce, and pepper if desired.

  5. Cover and cook for 5 additional min, stirring occasionally.

  6. Serve
