Nana's recipe, made with nutmeg and cinnamon for a really good flavor. Can use sliced ham instead.

Recipe Ingredients for Cheese Dreams with Sliced Turkey

2 slices whole wheat bread
1 egg
1 tbs milk, 1%
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
2 oz sliced turkey
1 oz monterey jack cheese
1 oz cheddar cheese
2 oz maple syrup

Recipe Directions for Cheese Dreams with Sliced Turkey

  1. Whip the egg, milk, cinnamon and nutmeg together and set aside.

  2. Slice the cheese and portion the meat, and set aside.

  3. Fry one side only of dipped bread (into the egg mixture) and place cheese on one half and meat on the other. Optional to pre-heat the meat prior to building the cheese dream.

  4. Cook slowly in a non-stick pan until golden brown and until the cheese is melted.

  5. Serve with butter (optional) and syrup.
