Recipe Ingredients for Cheese Boereg

1/2 lb feta cheese
1/2 lb monterey jack cheese
1/2 lb cottage cheese
3 eggs
1/2 cup parsley
342 g phyllo dough (18 sheets)
8 tbsp butter

Recipe Directions for Cheese Boereg

  1. Method:

  2. Combine grated cheese, beaten eggs, and parsley. Vary the types of cheese according to your taste; you can also dry Muenster and cheddar cheese with this recipe. You should have ~1.5 lbs. of cheese in total.

  3. Use 2 sheets of phyllo dough at a time. Place dough on flat surface and brush with melted butter. Cut into strips about 3? wide. Place a spoonful of cheese filling at the bottom of each strip. Fold each strip into triangles and place on greased cookie sheet. Brush tops with butter. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

  5. You can make these in advance and freeze them before baking. Brush with melted butter before freezing.

  6. Note: You should end up with ~3 pieces per serving.
