"Healthy" cheddar bay biscuits. Not nearly as tasty as the real thing, but not bad, either. I'd say not worth it, if you're going to eat that many calories eat the real things!

Recipe Ingredients for Cheddar Bay Biscuit Knock offs

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup white whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 1/2 tablespoons of butter, cut into small pieces
3/4 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup finely shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Recipe Directions for Cheddar Bay Biscuit Knock offs

  1. Combine dry ingredients

  2. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles course meal.

  3. Add buttermilk, cheese, and garlic powder and stir just until dry ingredients are moist. Don't overmix.

  4. Drop approximately 1/4-cup portions of the dough onto an ungreased baking sheet using an ice cream scoop. Bake for 12 to 17 minutes or until the tops of the biscuits begin to turn light brown. Serve warm.

  5. Yields 12 biscuits
