This is a very easy, low fat, easy to make dessert.

Recipe Ingredients for Charlotte cake with chocolate chips

1 cup granulated sugar
4/5 cup whole wheat flour
3 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk chocolate

Recipe Directions for Charlotte cake with chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 325 F. Coat a baking dish (square or round) with PAM baking spray with flour. Whisk eggs and sugar until light and fluffy (I use a hand mixer). Add vanilla extract. Gently fold in flour without collapsing the mixture. Pour batter into baking dish and sprinkle in the chocolate chips. Bake for about 30 mins (until toothpick comes out dry/clean).

  2. PS: careful, one of these servings is very small and works best if you use a square backing dish then cut it into 4X4 (16 squares) - one of those squares is 113 cal. See my apple charlotte recipe for a healthier version.
