Vietnamese Rice soup w/ ground pork

Recipe Ingredients for Chao

1 1/2 lbs ground pork
1 1/2 cups rice, uncooked
7 cups water
1 clove garlic
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
3 tbsp fish sauce
1/4 cup green onion, chopped
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
1 dash of salt and black pepper
1 tbsp sugar

Recipe Directions for Chao

  1. Sautee Garlic in olive oil

  2. Brown meat with oil and garlic, fish sauce and sugar

  3. Place meat, rice, and water in large pot

  4. Cook until rice is soft or until at desired thickness

  5. Garnish with cilantro and green onion
