glaze with an additonal egg sprinkle with poppy seed and/ or sesame seeds

Recipe Ingredients for Challah

5 tsp yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 c water
4 c flour
2 large eggs
1/2 c olive oil
2 T honey
2 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Challah

  1. proof yeast in 1/2 c water

  2. make a valley in the flour & salt

  3. add the eggs, water, honey, oil

  4. add yeast

  5. combine and kneed for 7-10 minutes until the dough fights back.

  6. rest 1.25 hours

  7. kneed down and shape the bread

  8. rise one more hour

  9. bake 350
