Celeriac Gratin Recipe

Recipe Ingredients for celeriac gratin

10 oz celeriac, peeled
3 garlic cloves, finely sliced
1 oz red chilli, deseeded and finely sliced
1 Salt and pepper, season to tatse
3 tbsp vegetable oil
200 ml skimmed milk
300 ml creme fraiche

Recipe Directions for celeriac gratin

  1. Pre heat the oven at gas mark 5.

  2. Slice the celeriac to the thickness of a 10p. Place the celeriac, garlic chilli salt and plenty of black ground pepper in a large bowl and toss to coat. Add enough oil to coat and toss again.

  3. In a jug mix the milk and cream together and 3/4 to the bowl and give everything a good mix to coat. Butter a gratin dish and pour in half the creamy celeria mix arrange the celeriac evenly then add the rest of the celeriac and arrange in the dish and top up with the remaining cream.

  4. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes, or until browned top and bubbling.
