Pumpkin bread recipe my dad's old friend passed on to my mom a hundred million years ago. Still yummy but oh not good for you at all! :-)

Recipe Ingredients for Ceil Castellano's Pumpkin Bread

3 c sugar
1 c corn oil
4 eggs
16 oz pumpkin
3 1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp ground allspice
2/3 c water

Recipe Directions for Ceil Castellano's Pumpkin Bread

  1. Combine sugar, oil & eggs. Add pumpkin & beat till smooth.

  2. Sift dry ingredients together (I never do), and add to mixture. Beat until smooth. Add water and stir well.

  3. Bake 1 hr to 1 hr 15 min in 325-350 degree (F) oven.

  4. Makes 3 loaves; 12 thin slices each.

  5. NOTE: You can add nuts, raisins (I use golden raisins) and candied fruit if you choose to increase that carb count!)

  6. NOTE: I usually line the loaf pans with wax paper after greasing them well. Otherwise, it sticks.
