Cedar-Plank Salmon Recipe

Cedar boards for grilling are used to cook salmon over a hot grill. Soak boards 30 minutes prior to use.

Recipe Ingredients for cedar-plank salmon

2 lb. salmon fillet, skin on
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbls canola oil
1 tbls dried thyme leaves
1 tsp. cayenne pepper

Recipe Directions for cedar-plank salmon

  1. Preheat gas grill to high; adjust to med low after 15 minutes. (If cooking over charcoal, allow the coals to burn until they are covered with white ash.)

  2. Place the salmon skin-side down on the cedar plankCombine the brown sugar, oil, thyme, and cayenne in a bowl.

  3. Spread over the salmon.

  4. Place the planked salmon on the grilling grate and cook, with grill covered, about 40 minutes or just until the surface fat begins to turn white.
