Recipe Ingredients for Cass's Chicken & Broccoli Bake

3 pounds chicken breast
3 green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
3 tablespoons flour
2 cups 1% milk
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
2 cups egg noodles
3 medium tomatoes, sliced
4 cups broccoli, chopped

Recipe Directions for Cass's Chicken & Broccoli Bake

  1. Cook chicken and onion on one side until brown then flip and brown other side. Once browned remove chicken and sprinkle with lemon juice.

  2. Whisk flour into pan and add milk, continue whisking until mixture boils and thickens, add remaining spices and 1/2 cup of cheese.

  3. While browning the chicken cook egg noodles in another pot until tender but firm. Place cooked noodles in lightly greased oblong baking dish(I used my lasagna pan). Top with half of sauce from pan.

  4. Arrange tomato slices, broccoli and chicken on top of noodles. Cover with remaining sauce and the other 1/2 cup of cheese.

  5. Bake uncovered in 350F oven for 30 minutes.
