Recipe Ingredients for Carrots and Potatos (crockpot recipe)

28 oz potatos (russet)
18 oz baby carrots
38 oz chicken broth
1/2 large sweet onion
2 tbsp Cornstarch
1 tbsp Sugar (optional seasoning)

Recipe Directions for Carrots and Potatos (crockpot recipe)

  1. Peal and Cut up potatoes into large peices-they cook down a lot- (1 large potato equals 6-8 large peices cut up), and put them and baby carrots into crockpot with chicken broth and whatever seasonings you like. Cook on high all day. Bout 1/2-3/4 through the day cut up your sweet onion into very thin sliced rings, add to the mix in the crockpot to taste. This is also about the time you wanna add your cornstarch. Put it into a cup with a little warm water stir it up till it dissolves ok, should be pretty liquidy though. Cornstarch acts as a thickener for the broth. You don't want to just dump the cornstarch into the broth because you'll end up with blobs of cornstarch! Add the water/cornstarch mixture to the pot a little at a time and watch to see how it thickens up, adding more if you need it. Stir and let cook some more. I usually let it cook over night or just until the potatoes and carrots get real soft. It tastes like heaven!!

  2. PS: Seasoning is to taste and Its not added into the calories or the grade! Thats up to you guys. I like to put onion powder, garlic powder, a little seasoning salt (in everything actually lol), salt, maybe a little pepper. Just play with it :)
