Recipe Ingredients for carrot slaw - alton brown

2 lbs carrot, approximately 12 to 15 medium
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1 pinch salt, kosher
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup canned pineapple, crushed, drained thoroughly of all liquid
1/2 cup raisins
2 tsp curry powder
1 tsp garlic, minced
1 pinch celery seed, or caraway seed

Recipe Directions for carrot slaw - alton brown

  1. Wash the carrots and peel. Using a vegetable peeler, cut the carrots into wide noodle-shaped strips.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, whish together the yogurt, salt, sugar, pineapple, raisins, curry powder, garlic, and celery seed. Add the carrots and toss to combine.

  3. Serve immediately or refrigerate for 1 hour to serve cold.
