Recipe Ingredients for Carol's Whole wheat crust pizza

1/3 c warm water
1 pkg. yeast
1 T olive oil
1/2 t salt
2 t honey
2/3 c whole wheat flour
1 T ground flax seed
8 oz. tomato sauce no salt added
2 t pesto
1/2 t oregano
1/2 t chili powder
1 garlic clove
3 oz. black olive
1 small green pepper
6 oz. fresh mushrooms
1 small onion
4 oz. lean pork loin
6 oz. mozzarella

Recipe Directions for Carol's Whole wheat crust pizza

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in olive oil, salt, honey. Add the flax and the whole wheat flour, adjusting the flour to make a dough. Roll the dough in a little olive oil and cover & let rise in a warm place while preparing the toppings.

  2. Mix together tomato sauce, pesto, oregano, chili powder and a crushed clove garlic.

  3. Grind the loin in food grinder or processor. Cook the ground loin and season to taste with salt free seasoning.

  4. Chop the vegetables.

  5. Oil a pizza pan and press the dough onto it. Spread sauce. Top with meat then vegetables. Bake 425 oven until crust is starting to brown, about 15 minutes. Top with the cheese ad return to the oven until cheese is melted and just starting to brown, about 5 minutes more.
