Slow cooker recipe from booklet that came with new crockpot. (Note: I ate mine with rice instead of on a bun.)

Recipe Ingredients for Carolina Barbecued Pork

2 onions, quartered
2 tbs brown sugar
1 tbs paprika
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
4 lbs boneless pork roast
3/4 cup vinegar
4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp red pepper flakes, crushed
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp cayenne

Recipe Directions for Carolina Barbecued Pork

  1. Put onions in bottom of crockpot. Combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, and pepper and rub over roast. Put roast on top of onions.

  2. Commbine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, sugar, mustard, garlic salt and cayenne; stir to mix well. Drizzle about 1/3 over roast; cover and refrigerate the remainder.

  3. Put lid on crockpot and cook on LOW 10-12 hours or on HIGH 4-6 hours.

  4. Drizzle another 1/3 of vinegar mixture over roast during last half-hour of cooking.

  5. Remove meat and onions from pot when done and chop or shred meat and chop up onions.

  6. Serve on buns. Pass remaining vinegar mix to drizzle over sandwiches.
