Recipe Ingredients for Carmelized Tofu

7 oz. tofu
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. olive oil
2 cloves garlic
1/3 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
1/2 lb. brussels sprouts, washed and cut

Recipe Directions for Carmelized Tofu

  1. Slice the tofu into 1 inch strips.

  2. Sprinkle with finely ground sea salt and a splash of olive oil.

  3. Saute until lightly golden (approx. 4 mins).

  4. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.

  5. Add the brown sugar and cook for a couple more minutes.

  6. Remove from heat and add cilantro.

  7. Scrape tofu out of the skillet and set aside while making the brussel sprouts.

  8. Slice the brussel sprouts in half, then into 1/8 inch strips.

  9. Add another splash of olive oil and another pinch of sea salt.

  10. Turn up the heat to med-high.

  11. When hot, stir in the brussel sprout ribbons.

  12. Cook for 2-3 minutes until a little golden brown.

  13. Stir in tofu and enjoy.
