Recipe Ingredients for Carmelized Peach with 1/4 c. Vanilla Ice Cream

2 peaches
2 T. maple syrup
1 T. brown sugar
1/2 c. water
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. rose wine, sherry
1/4 c. vanilla ice cream

Recipe Directions for Carmelized Peach with 1/4 c. Vanilla Ice Cream

  1. Cut the peaches in half (giving you 4 halves).

  2. Pour maple syrup and sugar into a saucepan and bring to a boil in water.

  3. Add a pinch if cinnamon and a dash of red wine for added flavor.

  4. Put the peach halves into the syrup mixture and cook for 1-1/2 minutes per side.

  5. Remove the peaches when they are slightly browned and take the skins off carefully. Remove half of the remaining liquid to a smaller pot and let the liquid sit while adding a bit more wine and a pinch more cinnamon. When the syrup is thick enough, drizzle it onto the peaches.

  6. This is very tasty on vanilla ice cream, and can be shared with family and friends as a dessert.
