Recipe Ingredients for Carmelized Onions

2 T olive oil
2 lbs yellow onions, sliced 1/4 thick
1/2 t. salt
1 t. brown sugar
1 T water

Recipe Directions for Carmelized Onions

Heat oil in a 12" skillet over high heat until simmering but not smoking; stir in onions, salt, and brown sugar and cook, stirring frequently. When moisture has evaporated and onions bein to brown, (about 10 min.) reduce heat to medium-low and cook until onions have softend and are med. golden browsn, about 20 min. Take off heat and stir in water.
