Recipe Ingredients for Carmelized Onion and Green Apple Bruschetta

6 oz ricotta, part skim
1 tbsp olive oil
1 clove garlic
1 cup onion, sliced
1 apple, cored and sliced thin
342 grams baguette, whole grain

Recipe Directions for Carmelized Onion and Green Apple Bruschetta

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees

  2. Slice bread on diagonal about ½ inch slices bake on cookie sheet until golden brown- about 5 minutes

  3. When removed from oven rub each piece of bread with garlic, set aside

  4. In a separate pan set to medium, heat 1 tbsp olive oil. Add sliced onions sauté on medium 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste, continue sautéing on medium additional 15-20 minutes until caramelized.

  5. Spread 1 tbsp ricotta cheese over each slice of bread, top with caramelized onion and slice of apple.
