Recipe Ingredients for Caramelized Onions

3 cups onions, sliced
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sugar

Recipe Directions for Caramelized Onions

Slice onions thin and place in sauce pan on medium with olive oil. Sautee until soft and browned, add sugar half way through to enhance the natural sugars in the onions. Add salt and pepper to taste if you wish, but only after the onions are browned otherwise the salt draws too much water from the onions and they won't caramelize properly.
