Recipe Ingredients for Caramelized Fish (Vietnamese)

8 oz catfish
1 garlic cloves, smashed
2 scallions, chopped
2 tsp of caramel syrup or sauce(1)
2 tsp of vegetable oil
1 tablespoons of fish sauce
2 tsp sugar
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
1/3 cup of water

Recipe Directions for Caramelized Fish (Vietnamese)

  1. Saute the fish in oil with chopped scallions and garlic. Add the rest of the ingredients, bring to boil, put in the clay pot, and put in a 300-degree oven for 40 minutes.

  2. Serve with steamed rice and boiled vegetables such as water spinach or sweet potato leaves or pickled vegetables.
