A classic, tri-color Italian salad made with tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and fresh basil

Recipe Ingredients for Caprese salad

2 tomatoes, large
1 cup cherry tomatoes
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon basil, fresh
4 ounces mozzarella cheese

Recipe Directions for Caprese salad

  1. Slice large tomatoes, and cut cherry tomatoes in half

  2. Wisk together lemon juice, oilive oil, salt and pepper

  3. Thinly slice the mozzarella cheese

  4. Chop the fresh basil

  5. Arrange tomatoes and cheese on platter and top with the olive oil mixture and basil

  6. Chill before serving
