Recipe Ingredients for Cannellini Bean & Sausage Gratin

3 tbls olive oil
6 sausage links
1 bulb fennel
1 onion
5 cloves garlic
1 tbls sage
10 cups swiss chard
1/2 cup chicken broth
19 oz white kidney beans
19 oz chickpeas
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/3 cup parmasan cheese

Recipe Directions for Cannellini Bean & Sausage Gratin

  1. *Heat oven to 350

  2. *In large skillet cook sausage (casings removed).

  3. *Remove sausage set aside

  4. *Add oil, onion and fennel to skillet and cook. Stir in garlic & sage. Add swiss chard one handful at a time stiring to slight wilt. Stir in broth, beans, sausage, salt & pepper.

  5. *Spoon mixture to baking dish.

  6. *In seperate dish mix bread crumbs and cheese then sprinkle on top of casserole.

  7. *Bake 30 minutes until golden brown & bubbly.
