Recipe Ingredients for Canada-Day Jello Poke Cake - ONLY 5 WW Points

1 package white or yellow cake mix
6 tbsp eggbeaters
2/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 cups light whipped topping
2 cups strawberries, sliced
460 g strawberry Jello sugar free gelatine

Recipe Directions for Canada-Day Jello Poke Cake - ONLY 5 WW Points

  1. Prepare cake according to package directions and bake for 35 minutes (FYI: the eggbeaters replace the eggs called for on the package and the applesauce replaces the oil).

  2. Let cake cool in pan for at least 15 minutes then poke holes across the entire surface of the cake with a fork.

  3. Dissolve the Jello in 1 cup of boiling water, pour the warm gelatine slowly over the surface of the cake (gelatine will soak into the cake) and then place cake in the refrigerator and chill for about 4 hours.

  4. Spread whipped toping on top of cake before serving and then assemble sliced strawberries to look like the Canadian Flag.

  5. To my American friends: conveniently your independence day is right around the corner so this recipe is not too late for you! Feel free to make this recipe but for the flag use blueberries for the stars and strawberries for the stripes.
