Stir-fried Cabbage adapted from MyRecipes.com, SouthernLiving

Recipe Ingredients for Cabbage, Stir-fried w Bacon (mine)

50 g bacon, 2 slices smoked back rashers,
12 cups cabbage, cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices (1 small head, 840g)
1 medium onion, chopped
1 small green bell pepper, chopped (I skip this)
2 tsp sugar, (I added to recipe, add w cabbage)
1 tsp rice wine vinegar, (I added to recipe, add w enough time to steam off the vinegar)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tsp sesame oil, (I added to recipe, add @ end)

Recipe Directions for Cabbage, Stir-fried w Bacon (mine)

  1. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp; remove bacon and drain on paper towels, reserving 3 Tbsps drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon and set aside.

  2. Saute cabbage, onion and bell pepper in hot drippings medium-high heat 5-6 minutes or until cabbage is crisp-tender.

  3. Stir in soy sauce and next three ingredients; cook 2 minutes. Top with crumbled bacon.

  4. Reviews: A great way to serve cabbage without boiling. A sprinkle of cayenne pepper flakes adds a little more zip.
