This is a diet. All you can eat while on this diet is this soup. I'm trying it for two weeks straight but my stepmom was able to do it for 2 months straight. It is given to heart patients two weeks before surgery to lose 10-15 lbs.

Recipe Ingredients for Cabbage Soup

6 medium Carrots
0.5 head, medium (about 5-3/4" dia) Cabbage
6 stalk, medium (7-1/2" - 8" long) Celery
16 oz Beans, Snap, Green
1 oz Onion Soup Mix
3.5 serving Diced Tomatoes

Recipe Directions for Cabbage Soup

  1. Place water in a medium to large size pot.

  2. Cut up carrots into medallions and place into water to boil for about 10 min.

  3. Cut up celery into small pieces and add into the pot for another 10 min; add green beans with the celery.

  4. Pour in can of tomatoes and soup mix. Stir thoroughly to dissolve soup mix.

  5. Bring up to a boil and add chopped cabbage in. Stir for a few minutes to mix the cabbage throughout the soup.

  6. Let the soup boil for a few more minutes.

  7. Put a lid on the soup, take it off the stove, and let it cool off.
