Recipe Ingredients for Cabbage Soup

1 head of Cabbage
6 Carrots
6 Onions (medium sized)
2 Red or Green Peppers
3 Tomatoes (large sized)
5 Celery Stalks (cleaned and trimmed)
1/2 cup of brown rice
1 salt and pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Cabbage Soup

  1. Cut all vegetables and place in large pot or boiler. Cover with water and bring to a boil.

  2. Let boil for ten minutes. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 45 minutes, or until vegetables are soft and tender. Cook brown rice separately, according to package instructions. When the soup is nearly done simmering (about 45 minutes), add rice. Flavor with salt and pepper to taste. Make sure soup is cooled before placing in refrigerator.
