Recipe Ingredients for Cabbage and smoked sausage stew

1 tsp grapeseed oil
1 onion, chopped
14 oz turkey smoked sausage , sliced
4 cups water
1 head, medium cabbage, cored and coarsely chopped
4 carrots, sliced
4 stalks celery, sliced
2 cups cooked barley
15 ounce organic dark red kidney beans, with liquid
2 tbsp organic tomato paste
28 ounce organic crushed tomatoes
1 leaf, bay
1 tsp dried thyme

Recipe Directions for Cabbage and smoked sausage stew

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat, and cook the onion until lightly browned. Place sausage in the pot, and pour in water. Mix in cabbage, carrots, celery, beans, tomato paste, and crushed tomatoes. Season with bay leaf, and thyme. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and cook at least 1 hour. Add cooked barkey last 10 minutes, until heated.
