Great side dish, 11% fibre, lots of vitamins, and tasty. 1.5 kg is weight of 2 med cabbages, already cored. 14 servings at 85 grams per serving.

Recipe Ingredients for Cabbage, Red Braised Sweet & Sour CB

1 1/2 kg red cabbage, diced (about 2 med heads)
4 apples
1/2 cup Splenda Brown Sugar Blend
3/4 cup vinegar
1 cup water
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil

Recipe Directions for Cabbage, Red Braised Sweet & Sour CB

  1. Core cabbages and cut into wedges. Slice, then chop into large dice (say 1/2 inch chunks)

  2. Put in a large dutch oven with all other ingredients. The sweet/sour may be adjusted to your taste. It doesn't seem like enough liquid, but it is as the cabbage will give off more liquid as it cooks.

  3. When done, package into serving sizes and this freezes well.
