Recipe Ingredients for Cabbage Kuchen


Topping:
2 onions
4 cups cabbage, shredded
1 cup milk
2 egg whites
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Dough:
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 egg whites
1 cup milk

Recipe Directions for Cabbage Kuchen

  1. Preheat oven to 375

  2. To make topping, slice onions thinly and saute with cabbage in 2 tablespoons of water.

  3. Mix in other topping ingredients and set aside.

  4. Stir flour, baking powder, and salt lightly with a fork.

  5. Combine egg whites, milk and stir briefly into dry ingredients.

  6. Spread into 8 x 8 baking pan. Spread with topping and bake for 35 minutes.
