Pork and rice meat balls wrapped in cabbage leaves and simmered in broth in a rice cooker.

Recipe Ingredients for Cabbage Balls (3 balls per serving)

6 cabbage leaves
1 leek
1/2 lb ground pork, raw
1/2 cup white rice, cooked
1/2 tsp parsley
1/2 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp sage
1 tsp chicken bouillon

Recipe Directions for Cabbage Balls (3 balls per serving)

  1. Mix pork, rice, chopped leek, parsley, oregano, sage, and salt and pepper to taste. Roll into 12 balls.

  2. Briefly boil cabbage leaves and drain. Cut each leaf in half, removing spine of leaf. Roll one meat ball up in each half leaf.

  3. Mix a cup or two of water with the bouillon in rice cooker. Stack wrapped balls neatly in the resulting broth. Cook on "quick cooking" cycle.
