Makes 16 servings



Moist cornbread. Recipe was reduced from 12-8 servings, but I cut much smaller portions so actually makes 16 servings.

Recipe Ingredients for Buttery Corn Bread

1/4 cup and 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup Milk, Reduced Fat, Fluid, 2% Milkfat
1 cups All Purpose Flour
2/3 cup cornmeal
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt

Recipe Directions for Buttery Corn Bread

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Combine the eggs and milk. Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with egg mixture.

  2. 2. Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Bake at 400 degrees F for 22-27 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cut into squares; serve warm.
