Recipe Ingredients for Butternut Squash Soup

2 1/2 lb squash
2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese
1/4 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp marjoram
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp brown sugar

Recipe Directions for Butternut Squash Soup

  1. Preheat oven to 375. Cut squash in half and spritz lightly with cooking oil. Then set in oven face down on rack for 45 minutes or until squash is tender.

  2. Peel the skin off the squash, then put it in a blender with chicken broth, cream cheese, pepper, cayenne pepper, salt, marjoram, cinnamon and brown sugar. Blend until liquefied.

  3. Heat in the microwave or on the stove top, but do no let boil.
