Recipe Ingredients for Buttermilk Waffles

6 tsp Sugar Pure Cane Granulated
2 cup White Flour, Unbleached
1 tsp Salt, Table
3 large Egg, Whole
2 cup Lowfat Buttermilk
6 tbsp Unsalted Butter
1 tsp Baking Soda
0.25 cup (8 fl oz) Water

Recipe Directions for Buttermilk Waffles

Mix the flour, salt and sugar together. Stir in the buttermilk until mixture is moistened. Melt butter, then incorporate in mixture. Separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites until stiff, set aside. Beat egg yolks and add to buttermilk mixture. Boil the 1/4 cup water, and dissolve baking soda in it. Add to batter. Fold in the egg whites. Cook waffles as usual. Makes 6 to 8 depending upon the size of the waffle iron.
