Simple scones. Traditionally served with butter, jam, clotted cream, and English tea :)

Recipe Ingredients for Buttermilk Scone

2 cup of flour
1/3 cup of granulated sugar
1/3 cup of unsalted butter
1 tsp of baking powder
1 tsp of salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup of buttermilk
1 egg (for eggwash)

Recipe Directions for Buttermilk Scone

  1. Preheat the oven to 450F

  2. Combine the dry ingredients

  3. Cut in cold butter

  4. Mix 2 eggs with buttermilk

  5. Mix dry and wet ingredients, and roughly shape into a dough

  6. Flat the dough to about 1/2 inch high, then cut into about 14 pieces

  7. Beat another egg and brush onto each piece

  8. Bake 15 min

  9. Enjoy!
