1 kg self raising flour
2 eggs
500 ml buttermilk
200 g sugar
170 g coconut
10 ml salt
10 ml baking powder
250 g margarine

Recipe Directions for Buttermilk Rusks

  1. sift all dry ingredients together

  2. add butter (cut in blocks) and mix till bread crumb consistency

  3. mix eggs and buttermilk together

  4. add egg mix to flour and mix

  5. add to bread pan and bake 50-60 min on 180 degree celsius

  6. cut in pieces and dry out in oven overnight
