Recipe Ingredients for Buttermilk Drop Biscuits

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3 tbsp margarine, cold Becel
3/4 cup buttermilk or low fat yogurt
1 cup blueberries

Recipe Directions for Buttermilk Drop Biscuits

  1. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir together well.

  2. With pastry cutter, knives or finger tips cut margarine into flour until mixture is in tiny bits. Stir in cheese or fruit.

  3. Pour buttermilk over flour mixture and stir until a rough batter is formed. Drop batter into 10 mounds on a nonstick or parchment paper lined 9x 13 baking sheet.

  4. Bake in preheated oven at 425 until lightly browned 12-15 minutes.
