Recipe Ingredients for Buttermilk Coffee Cake

150 grams flour
150 grams brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup butter
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 1/2 tablespoons buttermilk
50 g pecans, chopped

Recipe Directions for Buttermilk Coffee Cake

  1. cut the flour, sugar, salt, and butter together. combine a 1/2 c of this mixture with the chopped pecans and set aside.

  2. to the remaining mixture, add baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg

  3. whisk together the buttermilk and eggs, then add to the flour/butter/sugar/baking soda/baking powder/spice mixture and gently mix until just combined.

  4. pour batter into a greased 8x8 inch pan and crumble the flour/sugar/butter/pecan mixture evenly on top.

  5. bake for 35-40 minutes in a 350 F oven
