Buttermilk bread, good for mornings with peanut butter

Recipe Ingredients for Buttermilk Bread

2 cup Milk, Buttermilk, Fluid, Cultured, Lowfat
3 cup White Flour, Unbleached
3 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Sugars, Granulated
1 tsp Kosher Salt
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 large Egg, Whole
0.25 cup Butter

Recipe Directions for Buttermilk Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 325.

  2. Grease 9x5 loaf pan

  3. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, baking soda.

  4. Blend egg and buttermilk, and add to dry ingredients. Mix until just moistened.

  5. Stir in melted butter.

  6. Pour into loaf pan.

  7. Bake 60 - 70 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.

  8. Cook on a wire rack.

  9. Wrap in foil overnight before serving.
