Buttermilk biscuits using whole grain and buckwheat flour

Recipe Ingredients for Buttermilk biscuits

1/4 cup buckwheat flour
3/4 cup whole grain flour
2 tbsp butter, cut into small bits
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 egg

Recipe Directions for Buttermilk biscuits

  1. Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a bowl.

  2. Rub butter into flour.

  3. Mix in egg and buttermilk. Dough will be sticky.

  4. Dust a board with flour, tip dough onto flour.

  5. Knead dough very lightly, so a cutter can go through.

  6. Cut out 10 rounds with a floured cutter.

  7. Bake in a 400 F oven for about 30-45 minutes.
