Buttermilk battered french fries w/Jalapeno dipping sauce

Recipe Ingredients for Buttermilk battered french fries w/Jalapeno dipping sauce

1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 c. buttermilk
2 lbs potato cut into slices
1 cups vegetable oil
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup jalapeno peppers
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Recipe Directions for Buttermilk battered french fries w/Jalapeno dipping sauce

  1. Preheat the oil to 350 degrees.

  2. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Combine egg and buttermilk. Add to flour mixture and beat until smooth.

  3. Dip the potato slices in the buttermilk batter.

  4. Carefully place in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Lightly season with additional salt to taste and serve with the Jalapeno Dipping Sauce.
