From allrecipes.com. A great, super easy way to cook chicken in the slow cooker. Chicken is moist, tender and delicious. The calorie count is a bit off since you will not consume all the BBQ sauce, only part of it. Plus you can remove the skin from the chicken to further reduce calories. This recipe could be done in a dutch oven, but you will need to adjust the cooking time.

Recipe Ingredients for Busy Day Chicken

4 pound whole chicken
1 1/2 cups Barbecue Sauce
2 apples, quartered

Recipe Directions for Busy Day Chicken

  1. Put apples at the bottom of the slow cooker.

  2. Place chicken, breast down over apples, into slow cooker. Pour sauce over and inside the chicken. Cover.

  3. Cook for 8 to 10 hours on low setting. It is not a good idea to check it, as steam escapes and it takes quite awhile to reheat.
