A quicker version of the sticky-sweet breakfast roll.

Recipe Ingredients for Buscuit Cinnamon Rolls

2 cups flour
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
2 tbs white sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup plain yogurt
1/4 cups milk
7 tbs butter
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Buscuit Cinnamon Rolls

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

  2. Whisk together brown sugar and cinnamon, and one Tbs melted butter in a small bowl.

  3. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, .5 tsp salt, and 2 tbs white sugar in medium bowl.

  4. Whisk together yogurt, milk, and 2 tbs melted butter in small bowl.

  5. Add liquid ingredients to flour mixture, and mix with wooden spoon until just combined.

  6. Turn onto a lightly flowered surface, knead until one solid mass, and then pat into an 8" x 10" rectangle.

  7. Sprinkle sugar/cinnamon mixture over rectangle, leaving a 1" border around the edge.

  8. Pour 2 tbs butter in bottom of pie plate. Roll up the rectangle, cut into 8 slices, and place slices in the pie plate. Pour the remaining 2 tbs of melted butter over the top.

  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
