A "meaty" burger minus the meat but with lotsa flavour!

Recipe Ingredients for Burgers - Couscous and Kidney Bean Veggie Burgers

240 g canned kidney beans
2 tbsp Heinz Tomato Ketchup
1/2 tsp water
50 g couscous
90 g TINE Cottage Cheese
2 tbsp plain flour
20 g Crispbread Sesame Rye
2 cloves garlic, crushed
5 g spring onion
30 g frozen spinach, defrosted & not drained
1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
1/4 tsp paprika
1 pinch garam masala
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp lemon pepper
1 tsp extra virgin olive oil

Recipe Directions for Burgers - Couscous and Kidney Bean Veggie Burgers

  1. Roughly mash kidney beans with ketchup, cornstarch and water.

  2. Mix thoroughly with rest of ingredients - except 1 tbsp flour and olive oil, using your hands.

  3. Heat oil in a frying pan on medium-high. Shape burger mix into 4 patties coat lightly in remaining tbsp of flour and cook till browned (for about 4-6 minutes - depending on how 'charred' you'd like them).

  4. Flip and cook on other side. Remove onto a paper towel and cool before placing onto your favourite burger buns.

  5. As condiments try garlic mayo, salsa, sautéed mushrooms & cheese, fresh veggies like lettuce, cucumber, tomato, beetroot slices, pickle, etc.
