The calculator once again does not recognize buckwheat or whey protein isolate so I approximated using quinoa. The protein amount should be higher.

Recipe Ingredients for buckwheat breakfast

1 1/2 cups buckwheat groats
14 dates
1 cinnamon to taste
1 oz unsweetened chocolate
4 cups water
1/4 cup flaxseed meal

Recipe Directions for buckwheat breakfast

  1. Toast buckwheat in pan.

  2. Add all other ingredients and boil about 25 minutes on low heat.

  3. This makes a nutritious insulin regulating breakfast with great sources of fiber, MUFAs, and a good ratio of protein and carbohydrates.
