Recipe pulled off recipe site, but substituted some of the butter with olive oil

Recipe Ingredients for Brussel sprouts with lemon juice and almonds

3 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp butter
1/2 red onion
1/4 cup slivered almonds
3 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 lb brussel sprouts

Recipe Directions for Brussel sprouts with lemon juice and almonds

  1. Parboil the brussel sprouts whole for about 3 minutes

  2. Put sprouts in ice cold water, then cut them into halves

  3. Heat up olive oil in large skillet, sautee onion until translucent

  4. Add half the butter along with the brussel sprout halves, cook covered for several minutes, then add other half of butter over the top

  5. Add garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste

  6. When sprouts are cooked until a little soft but not bitter, stir in lemon juice and toasted slivered almonds and serve
